Well I had to go to the Bank ( Bank of Kuwait and Middle East KSC) to get my ATM debit cards exchanged as they were issuing latest ones with built in chips etc. The first confusion was where to go to collect as personal account was in a branch far from my office and the office account in Granata branch.
Some of my colleagues collected their cards from shuwaikh branch close to our office. The office accountant phoned the shuwaikh branch to check whether we could collect from there and were informed that you had to go to the branch where you had an account. I assumed since I had two accounts in two branches that a visit to two branches was called for.
Anyhow two days later, I went to the granata branch where my office account was. On entering, I was greeted by the security guard to whom I explained I had come for a card change. Being a small branch, his place of seating is just in front of the door when you enter, so naturally first person you see. He directed me to the secretary who was very polite and told me to sit and handed the cards to a lady in the counter to do the needful.
While waiting I remembered, I had to deposit a cheque so went to the next counter and handed the cheque and ID. I had forgotten to write my account number which he politely asked and wrote himself. After he finished doing the procedures, I took the receipt and sat on the sofa waiting to get my cards. In the meantime, a personal banker of the branch, greeted me ” can I help you”. I thanked him and advised that I have given debit cards to be changed.
Finally I was called and informed that my cards had been sent to the other branch where I had my personal account and could collect both from there. Disappointed by this, but honestly happy about the politeness and professionalism of the staff at BKME in granata went back to my office, making a mental note to head to the other branch the next day….
