My friends Gaspar and Estella decided to call it a day in Kuwait and head on back to India. Little by little preparing for going back has been tedious. You have to decide what is important to send back in advance, what to carry along and what to leave behind. Years of collected items have to sorted and it took time and stressed them out. Then the procedures to dispose of the furnished home, vehicle etc.
Both of them came for a goodbye visit to our place yesterday. During the 
course of the evening as we were having snacks, Gaspar announced that he had good news to tell us. My wife and me had different ideas of what could be good news relating to his job or their personal life. What he announced took us both off guard.
Well!! they decided to gift me their car. What to say. it was really too much. Despite my suggestions to the contrary, they said, it was decided by both and circumstances that moved them to believe it is also God’s Will. Did I forget to mention, they are both extremely religious. In addition they also gave a video of my family years back that was just priceless.
They have been good family friends and sources of moral support. We will miss them a lot… of course, friendship will continue but across distance now. I pray for Almighty God’s blessing on them.
The car transfer procedures started with me checking today on the Ministry of Interior’s website if there were any pending fines against my name or Gaspar’s. In the evening after having the insurance office preparing the transfer papers, we went to the traffic dept in Farwania. They told us to go to Hawalli. Back to the car and a long drive. When we reached there, the procedure took about half an hour. Once we went back to his home, he showed me the functionality of various buttons etc in the car and also cautioned not to be alarmed when certain warning lights come on. It is helpful to have an owners manual ..in the absence of which.. the previous owner showing all the features etc… Thanks GASPAR and ESTELLA.
What to say of friends…they really blow you away with kindness.
